The Secondary section of the School of the Nations comprises of five levels (at this stage), Forms
1 to 5.
The school year for students is from the last week of August to June. Class sizes are limited to a maximum of 26
students per
class.
English is the
medium of language, though about 18% of the time is dedicated to learning Mandarin Chinese. Both the English and the Mandarin programs are designed to cater for the range of students from 'beginners' of that language to 'native speakers' of that language.
Students work towards the I.G.C.S.E. examinations. However, the I.G.C.S.E. standard is
the minimum requirement. For example, the standards in Mathematics and Mandarin Chinese have proven to be significantly higher.
Significant emphasis is also given to the 'Information and Communication Technology' program.
The Character Development program is of great importance. This award winning program
(award winner both with the Macau Government and International School Services) seeks to develop individuals with noble qualities and character, who are active participants in actions that
promote individual and collective growth.
