The School of the Nations is an internationally - oriented educational institution, licensed by the Government of Macau as a non-profit organization. Created to fill the need for an international style education, and inspired by the Baha'i teachings, the School of the Nations has grown consistently since its inception in 1988 and is now firmly established in Macau as the only proven successful internationally oriented school.
The Badi Foundation

The School of the Nations is owned by the Badi Foundation, a non-profit organization registered in Macau since 1990. While the school does not have plans to establish other institutions or become involved in areas other than education, the Badi Foundation is pursuing other activities in Macau and China. These include:

  • the training of teachers in the curriculum and methods developed by the School of the Nations.
  • promoting cooperative efforts among individuals to contribute to the social wealth by establishing social enterprises.
  • providing foreign experts for schools in China.
  • promoting cultural and scientific exchange between China and the rest of the world.
Religious practices

While inspired by the Baha'i Faith, the School of the Nations is not a religious institution. The Baha'i influence can be seen especially in:

  • an understanding that the worth and honor of an individual is based on their usefulness and contribution to society and not on wealth or material possessions.
  • an understanding that the future growth of human culture will depend on cooperation and not conflict.
  • an understanding that the various countries of the world are now interdependent and in the near future will have to greatly strengthen their strategies for cooperation.
  • an emphasis on character development.
  • an appreciation and respect for peoples of all nationalities, races and religions.
  • an orientation towards service to the community.

Students are encouraged to turn their hearts in prayer towards God, the Source of all Knowledge. However religious rites and rituals are not practiced in the school. Baha'i Holy days are celebrated and school is suspended on these few Holy days.
